About the Event
Join the City Remnant and a host of other Community Organizations for the 9th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. America's Sunday Supper on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Doors open at 2:30 PM. General seating.
Theme: "Keeping in God’s Love, Showing Mercy"
Last year our theme focused on Restoring Peace Through Our Youth! As we all are aware our youth are our future. If they struggle then we will struggle too! We uncovered two conversation in 2023.
1) Youth Education - Intentional collaborative relationship between the City of South Bend and South Bend Schools as it pertains to improving education. A great school district brings stable working families with more income, education, and more activities for the youth.
2) Unsheltered Community - Housing in a safe environment both temporarily and permanently as well as being treated with respect.
Dr. King said we "must be involved in the struggle for the freedom and justice" and we "must not give ourselves to the things which will not solve our problems". We encourage you to bring your youth to this event. Their voice is relevant and needed at the table.
