Stronger Readers, Brighter Futures: Join Us for Literacy Night!

Last year, a new law was enacted stating that third graders who do not pass the I-Read exam will not advance to the next grade level. This has raised concerns among community leaders, parents, and teachers, as many are unsure of what to expect. However, one thing is clear—it will take all of us working together to help our kids succeed. 

To support students and families, the South Bend Community School Corporation is hosting a Literacy Night on February 27th at Brown Community Center. This event is designed to inspire a love for reading while equipping parents with valuable tools to support their child’s learning at home.  

Families attending Literacy Night can look forward to engaging activities for children, including a read-aloud session and book giveaways. Parents will receive valuable resources to support reading at home, making this a fun and educational experience for the whole family! We encourage all families to join us for this exciting night of learning and literacy. Let’s work together to get our kids back on track!
